Bahrain is small enough to see a great deal of in a short visit, and varied enough to reward a longer one. The old souq in Manama is a good starting point — narrow lanes of gold, spices, and textiles that have operated for generations.
From there, the Bahrain Fort (Qal'at al-Bahrain) gives a sense of the island's much older history, with archaeological layers going back thousands of years. The Bahrain National Museum ties the story together well if you want context before exploring further.
Getting around is straightforward by taxi or ride-hailing app, and most of the island's key sights are within a 30-40 minute drive of Manama. If your visit lines up with cooler months (November through March), outdoor time is far more comfortable.
